A ‘Strahler-Taler’ made from old registration plates

Invented by Peter Freud, from Aachen, Germany.
"When I registered my new vehicle, I realised that the licence plates were made of a very unique ‘raw material’. The fact that they were reflective was undoubtedly the starting point for creating the product. Each ‘Strahler-Taler’ is unique; they have all been on a long journey and each come with their own personal history, both of the driver and the vehicle.”

Idea: Reflective buttons made from old registration plates. The licence plates are made of aluminium and fitted with a reflective foil. This feature was the starting point when designing the product.
Advantage: The buttons are hard, light and resistant. They can easily be sewn into jackets, handbags and wallets. The buttons are reflective and help to increase the level of visibility of pedestrians or athletes, reducing the chances of being run over.
Materials: Discarded plates from garages, private individuals and the traffic authorities.
